Kuinder forest
The Kuinder forest, of no less than 1,200 hectares, is right next to Holiday Park ‘Eigen Wijze’ in Bant. There’s something for everyone: day campsite, playing fields, places to picnic or make a campfire, walking trails, cycle and riding tracks. On top of that, the Kuinder forest has a special mountain bike route and an area where dogs can run free. The dwarfs’ path is very popular with children.
Voorster forest
Previously, part of this forest was owned by the ‘Waterloopkundig Laboratorium’. With each assignment, the laboratory built a trial set-up to scale in the forest.
Gaasterland
Gaasterland is situated in the southwest part of Friesland. Here, you can find rolling fields and meadows, woods, centuries-old villages, ponds and lakes. Gaasterland is a perfect place for a bike ride, a walk or a car ride.
Rottige Meenthe
Marshland area ‘De Rottige Meenthe’ lies in the southeast part of Friesland, close to ‘De Weerribben’. This area is 1,650 hectares in size and exists because of peat extraction. At ‘De Rottige Meenthe’, you can enjoy cycling, walking, canoeing and fishing.
De Weerribbe - Wieden
Marshland area 'De Weerribben – Wieden’ National Park exists because of peat extraction. Take a beautiful walk or discover the wetland by bike or canoe.
